At BDTS we try to keep the End of Year Showcase fairly informal and simple with an element of professionality and excitement for the children and their parents. We do this because we try to always remember that our focus is on the process of learning to dance not the end result which might be 5 minutes on the stage in a glittering tutu. However, part of this learning process is going to require to take the performance seriously....which implies a significant committment on the part of the student to attend as many classes as possible and work hard in them, make all rehearsals and work hard in them. Parents need to be sure to remain supportive during what still might be a stressful time. Of course, there will be the usual school work and final exams and the like. Please let us know early in this process if you don't want to participate in the showcase. We are giving you this inofrmation early so that you can plan well ahead so as to not miss the crucial rehearsals in the final week. Students cannot miss these if at all possible....so please. please, please start the rescheduing process for other activities during the studio dress rehearsal week of May 15.
