Jazz, Hip Hop
Kim was born in Lima, Ohio, however spent most of her early childhood in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. It wasn’t until she moved to Raleigh at 10 years old that she discovered her love of dance through public school. At age 12, Kim began training in jazz, hip hop + ballet at Carolina Dance Center. In addition to school, training, participating in school theatre, and being Dance Captain of the Leesville Dance Ensemble she also worked a part time job on the weekends at a local grocery store. Enjoying the hustle, Kim decided to work after high school as a server + freelance dancer. Since age 18, she has choreographed/ guest taught at several studios/schools all over NC. Then at age 20, began training at North Carolina Dance Institute and shortly after started teaching Contemporary + Jazz. Since then, she has also worked for Elevate, a traveling+local gig company based out of raleigh/charlotte/charleston. Kim has performed in Cabo, Las Vegas, Nashville, GA + many other places dancing and modeling for Elevate. Currently, Kim enjoys spending most of her time teaching Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Deep Stretch at Barriskill Dance + NCDI while also private coaching. In her spare time you can find her snuggled up to her rescue pups Bear + Junie.
